作者简介
罗宾德拉纳德·泰戈尔Rabindranath Tagore(1861-1941)，享誉世界的印度诗人、小说家、思想家。1878年赴英留学，1880年回国后专门从事文学创作。1912年，自译英文版《吉檀迦利》出版，轰动全世界。1913年因该诗集获诺贝尔文学奖，从此跻身世界文坛，其作品被译成多国文字，广为流传。
泰戈尔一生共出版50余部诗集，其中著名的有《吉檀迦利》《飞鸟集》《园丁集》《新月集》《采果集》等。另外他还创作了12部中长篇小说，100多篇短篇小说，20多部剧本以及大量的文学、哲学、政治论著等，其作品博大精深，充满了慈善仁爱的胸怀和独特的人格魅力，赢得了无数人的景仰。
离别的创痛笼罩了整个世界，
无边的天宇变得姿态万千。
正是这离愁，夜夜默望着星辰，
并在七月雨夜的萧萧叶片间化做抒情诗。
正是这弥漫的离恨，
深化为爱和欲，成为人间的苦乐。
正是它通过我诗人的心灵，
融化成曲，喷薄而出。
It is the pang of separation that spreads throughout
The world and gives birth to shapes innumerable
In the infinite sky.
It is this sorrow of separation that gazes
In silence all nights from star to star
And becomes lyric among rustling leaves
In rainy darkness of July.
It is this overspreading pain that
Deepens into loves and desires，
Into sufferings and joy in human homes；
And this it is that ever melts and
Flows in songs through my poet's heart.
